Welcome to The Frugal Gambler!  You’ve just found a community platform dedicated to helping you beat the odds at online casinos and earn some money while having fun. How To Get Started Being a Frugal Gambler

Intro: On Privacy 

First things first, let’s talk about privacy and personal information.  You will have to do what is called a KYC verification with each of these casinos, which in most cases means you’ll have to verify your identity with your drivers' license and your address with a bank statement or bill. Sometimes when you sign-up, sometimes to earn your daily free spins, and most times just when you’re redeeming your earnings.  There’s a lot of hesitation around this, and there’s always a risk giving out your personal information.  However, most of it is already out there.  You’ve given it up through other programs and tools you use, and most of all through your phone.  The casinos we support almost all use one of 3 or 4 big verification providers that exist and are, in my opinion, as safe as providing it anywhere else. Step 1: Get A Dedicated Email

You’re going to get a lot of emails when you’re signing up with a large number of casinos. Everything from signup verifications to coupon offers and redemption notices.  Because of this I always recommend you create brand spanking new email and use that for all of the casinos you register with, and for The Frugal Gambler itself. This way you can easily set up filters, keep everything organized, and away from your personal email.  Here’s a list of email providers I’d recommend: 

1. Proton Mail - I love proton mail and it’s what I use for my personal email.  It’s secure, fast and has a great UI on both desktop and mobile phones.  They have free and paid versions. 

2. Start Mail- This is another privacy focused email provider, but there's no free version.  It's $3.00 per month.  However there are no ads and you can send encrypted emails. 

3. Mail Fence - Another privacy focused email provider that provides a full suite of tools similar to Gmail.  There are free and paid versions available 

4. Gmail - I’m not a big fan of Google and tend to steer clear of their products when possible, but it’s hard to argue with Gmail.  It’s a solid email platform all around and it’s free.

The online casinos you’ll be signing up for all have different payment and redemption methods.  Some of them support debit cards, other crypto currencies and some use virtual currency methods like Skrill.  Like with your email, I always recommend creating a fresh bank account that’s widely supported by the casinos.  In addition, you should open a Skrill account and a crypto wallet account, which I recommend doing through Coinbase. While Coinbase is still somewhat frustrating, it’s the easiest crypto wallet to work with. You can absolutely use one of the traditional banks like Chase or Wells Fargo, but I’m going to focus on some newer banks for my recommendations. Some of the banking options I’d recommend will give you a bonus just for signing up and making a deposit, which adds to your bankroll.  Remember, every step of the way, it’s all about maximizing value where you can to be a Frugal Gambler. 

1. Sofi - I really like Sofi.  Their app is easy to use and has a lot of features like investing options built right in.  Plus if you deposit $50 in the first 21 days you get a $25 bonus.

3. Coinbase - The easiest to use cryptocurrency wallet out there, and it's still a little annoying as you have to convert everything from crypto to dollars before you deposit it, so it's two steps.    

Step 3: Redemptions

While you can always redeem through one of the banking or crypto options I recommend above, there’s another way a lot of the casinos allow you to redeem your winnings, and that’s through gift cards.  I know, I know, we all want cold hard cash, but there’s a hook to the gift card redemptions that lets you maximize your earnings.  Most of the casinos use a company called Prize Out for their gift card redemptions, and prize out gives you a percentage bonus on your redemption.  Sometimes it’s low, 2 or 3 percent, but there are actually a lot of bigger bonuses that come along.  I’ve seen it go as high as 25%, which on a $100 redemption is an extra $25 bucks.  That can go a long way to supporting your Uber Eats or Red Lobster habit. A note about redemptions. The free spins the casino give you need to be spun or played through first before you can redeem them at almost all casinos.  This means if you get $10 in free credits you need to spin through $10 in slots or bet $10 on a card game before you can redeem your winnings. There are some exceptions to this but it’s few and far between so just count on it as part of the Frugal Gambler experience.

It’s where you can set up how you want to receive your notifications when new bonuses are ready and access the full feed of casinos you want to log into each day.  You can set your preferred method of receiving alerts on the Alerts tab at the top of your money feed.  We support email and push notifications, and you can set the frequency you want to receive those notifications.  So if you set a frequency of 1 hour, you won’t receive emails more frequently than every hour.  Some Frugal Gamblers like to line up their bonuses into one big batch, and others like to space them out throughout the day.
