How To Be A Frugal Gambler - The 6 Commandments

The Frugal Gambler

There are a number of things I do to maximize my ability to earn from online casinos. A shining light, if you will, on my path to solid beer money.  Being a Frugal Gambler isn't easy.  It takes discipline, and playing by a set of rules to build a bankroll that gives you better odds to cash out winnings.  In some ways, we're the anti gamblers, using every advantage presented to bring home the bacon. Without further adieu, the 6 Frugal Gambler Commandments:

We live and die by daily login bonuses
Frugal Gambler Commandment 1 - We live and die by daily login bonuses

The daily login bonus is a beautiful thing.  Borne of the the regulations that allow online casinos to classify themselves as sweepstakes, it gives hope for the little guys.  Every day, rain or shine, we log in.  This is the tenant that planted the seed for The Frugal Gambler to grow and prosper.  It all started with a spreadsheet, and a dream.  Now look where we are today, a customized wordpress site and a community racking up free spins like it's nobodies business.  We are the elite, and even when we've called into work sick because we partied too hard the night before, we get out our laptops and collect our spins.

We shall not give casinos money that doesn't come from a coupon
Frugal Gambler Commandment 2 - We shall not give casinos money that doesn't come from a coupon

Casinos are built to take our money.  Online, offline, even that little slot machine your brother got at the swap meet that takes pennies, is built, to take your money.  And that's fine, we want them to take our money....but we also want them to give us money.  And to do that, we need to shake them down a bit.  We shake them down, by saying no to regular deposits.  We only make deposits when we use a coupon that gives us a significant bonus on our entries.  We're talking at minimum extra 100% of your deposit being rewarded, if not 200 or 300%. These are the margins we need to win, and we're going to take them.  Be vigilant my brothers and sisters, for the song of the casino siren is deadly, and must be resisted unless there is a coupon in hand. Then, and only then, we dance at the slot machines.

Jesus demands you build a bankroll
Frugal Gambler Commandment 3 - Jesus demands you build a bankroll

Now I know we all get excited when we see those $6 in available credits and think, "I can win with this!".  Let me stop you there, you can't.  Winning at online casinos usually comes down to a "big hit".  And by that I don't mean winning 10k, I mean winning $300 on a $1 spin from a bonus or making the right call on the roulette table.  To get started on the path to victory, you need an army.  Without an army you are fodder for the cannons.  In this case, that army, is money.  I always recommend waiting until you have at least $20 in spins available at a casino to play, ideally $30, but the reality is the more you have available and the less you've spent on it the better. With smaller amounts it's really unlikely that you're going to have a chance to hit a solid win.

We're lower middle class betters
Frugal Gambler Commandment 4 - We're lower middle class betters

We all want to throw down $500 on green and hit it big, but that only happens in movies.  Or when you're in vegas to that one friend you don't really like, but is one of the mates, so you're stuck with him.  That guy always comes home with money, and we'll never know why.  To give us enough spins to hit on a bigger bonus or odds bet, we gamble in the lower middle class range.  This is $.60-$1.25 per bet.  Enough where you are looking at houses, but they're compact and efficient in their use of space.  It's enough where a win can be meaningful, but small enough where we are getting 40+ bets if we have followed our bankroll commandment.

We take the money and run
Frugal Gambler Commandment 5 - We take the money and run

We aren't the person that drives the lambo, we're the one in the beamer.  That's because we don't swing for the fences ladies and gentleman.  We take singles like we're addicted to speed dating.  Singles are what drive in runs.  They're easier to hit.  They move runners forward.  They put enough money in your pocket for a night out with the family or to pay for that video game you've wanted. There are three key points to this commandment.  The first is if we go up, we do not go back down below where we started.  The second is if we go up by over double what we started with, we cash out the double amount, or the amount rounded down to the nearest $100 that keeps $20 in the casino.  As a real life example, if you started with $30 and won $212, you'd cash out $192.  This keeps a consistent bankroll in your casinos so you have the option to play more often.

We pay homage to the gift card
Frugal Gambler Commandment 6 - We pay homage to the gift card

The gift card is a dirty term in the online casino world, but it shouldn't be.  Used effectively, this is a powerful weapon in our arsenal against the margins.  Most of the casinos use a company called Prizeout to allow members to cash out with gift cards instead of cash.  Who wants a gift card instead of cold hard cash, right?  But there's a catch in the details.  When you log into the prizeout website, you'll notice there are bonuses assosciated with cashing out via a gift card.  They're usually small, 1 or 2%, but every now and then you'll see some big ones. I've seen as high as a 30% bonus, which can make your $100 redemption into $130.  It's a great way to maximize your earnings If you follow these tenants you'll officially be a Frugal Gambler.  You'll put money in your pocket and beat the casinos at their own game while having some fun. Stand tall, stay strong, and happy spinning!
